The McGovern Foundation began in July 2021 with a bold mission: to remove barriers that stop people from obtaining their driver’s licence. Through our targeted Driver Mentor Program, we create a stream of mentored, mobile, and employable people…unlocking opportunities, strengthening the workforce, and building connected and resilient communities.

Jeremy McGovern
Founder of the McGovern Foundation. A five-time All Australian and Premiership Defender with the West Coast Eagles, Jeremy will provide invaluable exposure nationwide to drive the Foundation as well as its corporate and community partnerships.

Tom Barrass
A key partner with Jeremy McGovern both on and off the field, the fellow Premiership defender is a proud advocate for community equality. Tom was integral in the establishment of the foundation and is an passionate driving force behind its vision and growth, and an excellent role model for Wanderer Program participants.

Collene Castle - Chairperson
Collene is a Menang Gnudju Yok from the Great Southern WA. As Director with Wonnil Partners, Collene supports businesses across the state to deliver reconciliation initiatives. Collene has a long history of leading successful training and employment outcomes for Aboriginal people. She is the recipient of the 2022 Naidoc Perth Outstanding Achievement award.

Jeff Farrell
Jeff is a Malgana/Wilinyu man who grew up in Geraldton, having lived most of his adult life in Boorloo. Jeff has worked in operational roles within the resources industry for the last 18 years, and more recently in strategy implementation, policy development, and corporate partnerships. Jeff is passionate about removing barriers to employment and values and supports broader social equity programs.
Taylor Hayward
Taylor Hayward is a Goreng Noongar man, who grew up on Wilman Noongar country in Collie. Taylor is Principal Consultant at his boutique consulting firm specialising in strategy development, human resource management and change management. Taylor brings with him a vast working experience that spans the government, mining, and non-profit sectors.

Adam is a Partner at BDO with over 25 years’ experience and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, bringing a strong financial background to the Foundation. The values of the Foundation and the tangible benefits of the Wanderer Program resonate with Adam who is excited to contribute and compliment the skills of the other board members.
